basics

I have decided that I need to re-invent my style, and re-jig the way I dress. A lot has changed over the last 8 months and I no longer want to dress in the same way as I used to. I want to dress in a classic, simple, no fuss way- concentrating on quality fabrics, simple silhouettes and comfortable, yet, sophisticated pieces. All this means investing (even though clothes are hardly an investment...) in items, which make me feel good and comfortable in my own skin. I don't want to show off my body, or draw attention to myself, other than to say I look effortlessly stylish (this would be the ultimate compliment).

Gone are my patterned pant days.

Anyway half of the items in this set are pieces I am seriously considering buying. In fact, check back in this time tomorrow, and I may just have purchased them (planning a shopping trip as we speak). These being the bag, dress and boots. The boots remind me a lot of these Acne numbers, which are kinda rad, but, I don't know, I think I actually like these a little better. Good thing too because they are a fraction of the price. The dress is very different to what I would normally wear. I have never delved into full length skirts before (I detest the word maxi) but think now may be the time to give them a try. Its lovely and comfortable too, which ticks some boxes. And, despite my continued searches, I have not found another black (affordable) bag, which I like better than this Status Anxiety one. Sure, I have found plenty of beautifully simple and elegant ones (which I love) but are so far out of my price range it is not even worth mentioning them. It do need another visit, however, before I completely make my mind up.

The other items in the set are just to fill the gaps really, but I am desperately in want of a VPL bra and how amazing is that Acne jacket- I die, I die, I die!

Clothing slash shopping aside, I have been riding a rather fun bircher fetish. So far I have sampled the goods at Monk Bodhi Dharma (probably my favourite haunt at the moment) and Top Paddock, both of which were seriously yum! I recommend them both! I have also started a new foodie job this week and am loving every moment of it! It feels so good to be working again.
